Apple Pancakes with Brown Sugar and Cinnamon

Description

Delicious apple pancakes flavored with brown sugar and cinnamon, perfect for a joyful morning meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • pinch ground nutmeg
  • pinch ground cloves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted & cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk (or 1 cup for thinner pancakes)
  • 1 cup shredded apple (about 1 large or 2 small apples)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves.
  2. In a second medium bowl whisk together the brown sugar, melted butter, egg, vanilla and milk.
  3. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon. Then fold in the shredded apple.
  4. Heat a griddle to 350F or a frying pan to medium heat. Grease lightly with cookie oil.
  5. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the griddle/frying pan per pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until you see small bubbles form on the uncooked side. Flip and cook on the other side for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use more milk for thinner pancakes if desired.
  • These pancakes are best served warm.
