Description

Churro Saltine Toffee Bites are a delightful treat combining the crunch of saltines with toffee, chocolate, and a dusting of cinnamon sugar.


Ingredients

  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 225 g unsalted butter
  • 220 g brown sugar
  • 340 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 5 g ground cinnamon
  • 100 g granulated sugar
  • 5 g sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy release and cleanup.
  2. Lay the saltine crackers in a single, even layer across the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar together, stirring until the mixture bubbles.
  4. Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers. Transfer to oven and bake for 5–7 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbly and golden.
  5. Remove from oven. Immediately scatter chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let stand until softened. Spread chocolate evenly over entire surface.
  6. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Generously sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar over the warm, melted chocolate. Finish by scattering a pinch of sea salt on top.
  7. Let the toffee cool completely at room temperature. Once fully set, break or slice into individual pieces for serving.
