Description

Delightful and colorful swirl cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra tablespoons if needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, cut into chunks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon food coloring or extra extract
  • 1 1/2 cups holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients and sugars in a stand mixer.
  2. Add butter gradually and mix until dough forms.
  3. Mix in vanilla extract.
  4. Divide dough into two equal portions.
  5. Color one portion and mix until even.
  6. Roll both doughs between wax paper to 1/4-inch thickness.
  7. Chill dough sheets for at least 1 hour.
  8. Stack doughs, seal edges, and trim evenly.
  9. Roll dough tightly into a log.
  10. Coat log with sprinkles and chill again.
  11. Slice into 1/4-inch cookies.
  12. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 17 minutes.
  13. Cool briefly before transferring to a rack.
