Description
A delicious and cheesy pepperoni stromboli, baked to perfection and served with marinara sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 prepared pizza dough, rolled into a 30×40 cm rectangle
- 130 grams mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 60 grams pepperoni, sliced
- 25 grams Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 120 millilitres marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Set oven to 190°C to ensure even baking temperature.
- Roll pizza dough into a 30×40 cm rectangle on a lightly floured surface, maintaining even thickness.
- Distribute shredded mozzarella cheese evenly across the dough, leaving a 2.5 cm border. Arrange sliced pepperoni over the mozzarella.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan and Italian seasoning evenly over the pepperoni layer.
- Tightly roll the dough from the long side, tucking in the ends as you go. Ensure seam is on the underside.
- Place rolled dough seam-side down on a greased baking tray. Brush surface with beaten egg for a glossy, golden finish.
- Cut small diagonal slits along the top to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Bake in preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
- Cool for several minutes before slicing into portions. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding bell peppers or onions to the filling.
- This stromboli can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
