Description

Delicious waffles filled with creamy strawberry cheesecake mixture, perfect for a sweet breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk or 1 cup milk mixed with 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • Cooking spray or additional melted butter for waffle iron

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions and lightly grease with cooking spray or butter.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until homogenous.
  4. Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. In a medium bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  6. Gently fold the chopped strawberries into the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Pour enough waffle batter into the preheated waffle iron to thinly coat the bottom.
  8. Spoon a generous tablespoonful of strawberry cheesecake filling onto the center of the batter layer.
  9. Pour additional waffle batter over the filling to cover completely.
  10. Close the waffle iron and cook as directed by the manufacturer, typically 3–5 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  11. Carefully transfer finished waffles to a wire rack and repeat process with remaining batter and filling.
  12. Slice waffles as desired and serve warm, optionally with maple syrup or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh strawberries for the filling.
  • Make sure not to overmix the batter for light and fluffy waffles.
  • Serve immediately for the best taste.
