Description
A delicious and easy-to-make steak dinner packed in foil with rice and vegetables.

- 4 cups cooked rice
- 1 (1-oz) packet onion soup mix
- 1 pound steak, cube steak or top round steak
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk, divided
- Carrots, zucchini, asparagus, bell peppers, green beans, etc. (optional)
- Heavy duty foil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Tear off 4 large sheets of heavy duty foil, about 10-12 inches across.
- Add 1 cup of cooked rice to the center of each sheet of foil.
- Top rice with about 1-2 teaspoons of onion soup mix.
- Slice the steak into 12 thin strips, about 1 inch wide.
- Place 3 strips of steak on top of each mound of rice.
- Add chopped vegetables around the edges if desired and season with salt and pepper.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of evaporated milk over each mound.
- Sprinkle the remaining onion soup mix evenly over the steak for each packet.
- Bring the short ends of the foil together and fold down securely over the food, then fold corners in to create a secure packet.
- Place the packets on a large baking sheet.
- Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
- Carefully open each packet after removing from the oven, avoiding steam burns.
- Serve hot!
Notes
- Can be made on a campfire or grill – see the notes for instructions.
- Regular foil can be used, but heavy duty is recommended to avoid tearing.
- Adjust cooking time for larger cuts of steak.
