A delicious slow cooker recipe featuring beef, potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese.

- 680 g beef stew meat or sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 240 ml beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 150 g shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and black pepper. Sear beef on all sides for 3-4 minutes until browned. Transfer seared beef to the slow cooker.
- Add diced potatoes, onion, and minced garlic to the slow cooker with the browned beef. Pour in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Sprinkle dried thyme and paprika over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Cover with lid and cook on low setting for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until beef becomes tender and potatoes are soft.
- About 15 minutes before serving, evenly distribute shredded cheddar cheese on top. Cover and allow cheese to fully melt.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or thyme. Serve hot.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the beef in Worcestershire sauce for a few hours before cooking.
- Adjust seasonings to your taste.
- Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
