Description

A deliciously spicy burger featuring jalapeños and pepper jack cheese that will ignite your taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 680 g ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 4 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 1 cup arugula or shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • ½ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp adobo sauce (from chipotle peppers in adobo)
  • 1 chipotle pepper, finely minced
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 brioche or sesame burger buns, toasted
  • 1 tbsp butter (for toasting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, adobo sauce, chipotle pepper, lime juice, and salt. Mix well and refrigerate until use.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add sliced jalapeños and sauté for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened. Remove from heat.
  3. Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side or until desired doneness. In the last minute, top each patty with pepper jack cheese and cover to melt.
  5. Spread butter on buns and toast in a pan or on the grill until golden brown.
  6. Spread chipotle mayo on both bun halves. Layer bottom bun with arugula, tomato, and burger patty. Top with sautéed jalapeños, red onion slices, and the top bun. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can adjust the number of jalapeños based on your spice preference.
  • Use turkey or plant-based patties for a different twist.
  • For extra creaminess, add more chipotle mayo to your burger.
