Description

Deliciously soft and chewy Snickerdoodle cookies, coated in a cinnamon sugar mixture, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine butter, 3/4 cup sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. Add baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix until incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in flour just until combined, avoiding overmixing.
  6. In a small bowl, combine 3 teaspoons ground cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar to create the coating mixture.
  7. Scoop approximately 2 tablespoons of dough and roll into a ball. Coat each ball in the prepared cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.
