Description

Delicious and decadent Salted Caramel Chocolate Chunk Muffins with a soft texture and rich flavors of chocolate and caramel.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  5. Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped chocolate chunks.
  7. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  8. Drizzle each muffin with a tablespoon of caramel sauce and sprinkle chopped walnuts on top (if using).
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the muffins to cool for a few minutes before drizzling with extra caramel sauce and serving.
