- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups chopped chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
- Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped chocolate chunks.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
- Drizzle each muffin with a tablespoon of caramel sauce and sprinkle chopped walnuts on top (if using).
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the muffins to cool for a few minutes before drizzling with extra caramel sauce and serving.
