Description

Delicious raspberry sweet rolls filled with jam and fresh raspberries, perfect for a delightful dessert or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup raspberry jam or preserves
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add sugar, melted butter, and egg, whisking until well combined.
  3. Gradually add flour, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread raspberry jam evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Scatter fresh raspberries over the jam.
  8. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log.
  9. Using a sharp knife or dental floss, cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
  10. Arrange the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, leaving small gaps between them.
  11. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  12. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on top.
  13. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes before dusting generously with powdered sugar. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Make sure the milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast.
  • You can use frozen raspberries if fresh are not available.
  • These rolls can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
