Description

Delicious Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwiches that combine the flavors of pizza with the gooey goodness of grilled cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni slices
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side of two slices, spread a layer of marinara sauce.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the marinara sauce.
  5. Add a layer of pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
  6. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and dried oregano over the pepperoni.
  7. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  8. Place the sandwiches on the preheated skillet or griddle.
  9. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  10. Remove from heat, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve.

Notes

  • Feel free to add more toppings such as bell peppers or olives.
  • For a healthier option, use whole grain bread.
