Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Milk, warmed to 110°F
  • 2 packets Active rise yeast, or 4 1/2 teaspoons
  • 2 Large eggs, room temperature slightly beaten
  • 4 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup White granulated sugar
  • 10 TBSP Unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup Oreo crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, room temperature (Oreo Filling)
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar, packed light or dark (Oreo Filling)
  • 1 TBSP Ground cinnamon (Oreo Filling)
  • 1 TBSP Dutch process cocoa powder, natural cocoa powder is also fine (Oreo Filling)
  • 1/8 tsp Salt (Oreo Filling)
  • 1 cup Oreo pieces (Oreo Filling)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese, room temperature (Oreo Cream Cheese Glaze)
  • 4 TBSP Unsalted butter, room temperature (Oreo Cream Cheese Glaze)
  • 1 1/4 cup Powdered sugar, sifted (Oreo Cream Cheese Glaze)
  • 1/4 cup Oreo crumbs (Oreo Cream Cheese Glaze)
  • 2 tsp Pure vanilla extract (Oreo Cream Cheese Glaze)

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in the microwave until around 110F. Sprinkle the 2 packets of yeast on top. Let it sit for 10 minutes for the yeast to activate.
  2. Sift the flour in a large mixing bowl. Mix in salt and sugar. Cut the butter into cubes and add to the dry ingredients, then cut the butter until the size of a pea.
  3. Add in the milk/yeast mixture, lightly beaten eggs, and Oreo crumbs. Mix on low until dough starts to form, then knead for 5 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200F. Form the dough into a ball and place in a greased mixing bowl. Cover and let it rise in the oven for 1 hour.
  5. In a separate bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cocoa powder for the filling.
  6. Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thick. Spread the filling and sprinkle the Oreo pieces on top.
  7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut it into 12 rolls. Place in a sprayed 9X13 pan and let it rise for 35 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 19-22 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Prepare the glaze by beating the cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, Oreo crumbs, and vanilla, mixing until desired thickness.
  10. Spread glaze over the hot cinnamon rolls and top with extra Oreo pieces or crumbs.

Notes

  • You can mix the dough by hand if you do not have a stand mixer.
