Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped mint

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add your diced onion to the skillet and cook until it’s soft and golden.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with your spoon or spatula and cook it until it’s no longer pink.
  4. Sprinkle in the cumin, cinnamon, allspice, paprika, oregano, black pepper, and salt.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir well, letting it simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Turn off the heat and sprinkle in the chopped parsley and mint.
  7. Spoon the beef over warm rice, stuff it into pita bread, or serve it alongside a fresh salad.
