- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon allspice
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped mint
Instructions
- Start by heating the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add your diced onion to the skillet and cook until it’s soft and golden.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with your spoon or spatula and cook it until it’s no longer pink.
- Sprinkle in the cumin, cinnamon, allspice, paprika, oregano, black pepper, and salt.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and stir well, letting it simmer for a few minutes.
- Turn off the heat and sprinkle in the chopped parsley and mint.
- Spoon the beef over warm rice, stuff it into pita bread, or serve it alongside a fresh salad.
