Description

A delicious low-carb dish combining broccoli, cauliflower, and smoked sausage in a creamy cheese sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups Cauliflower Florets lightly steamed
  • 2 cups Broccoli Florets lightly steamed
  • 12 ounces Sliced Smoked Sausage
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 Onion diced
  • 2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 2 ounces Cream Cheese softened
  • 2/3 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1 1/2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Add the sliced sausage to a skillet over medium high heat, and saute until seared. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a pot over medium heat.
  4. Stir in the onions, and saute until softened.
  5. Mix in the garlic, and saute for 30 seconds.
  6. Add in the cream cheese until melted.
  7. Pour in the heavy whipping cream, and whisk to combine well.
  8. Simmer over medium low heat until thickened.
  9. Stir in the shredded cheese, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Combine the cauliflower, broccoli, and sausage in a mixing bowl.
  11. Pour the cheese sauce into the mixing bowl, and stir to combine.
  12. Spread the mixture into a 9×9 baking dish.
  13. Bake for 15-20 minutes.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcook the broccoli and cauliflower during steaming.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Feel free to adjust the cheese types for different flavors.
