Description

Delightful Grinch-themed donuts perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¾ cup plus 2 Tbsp milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 Tablespoon heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tablespoon whole milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon corn syrup
  • 3 drops neon green food coloring
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • Large Red Heart Sprinkles
  • Green Dusting Sugar

Instructions

  1. For the donuts, mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Beat in the eggs, milk, vanilla, and butter. Beat until well blended.
  2. Spray donut pan with cooking spray. Fill each donut cup about ¾ full (using a ziploc bag with the corner snipped for neatness). This fills about 8-10 donuts.
  3. Bake donuts in a 325-degree oven for about 11-14 minutes. Allow to cool slightly, then remove from the pan.
  4. While the donuts are cooling, make the glaze. In a small saucepan on medium-low heat, mix together the cream, milk, butter, vanilla, and corn syrup. When the butter is completely melted, add in the food coloring and remove from heat.
  5. Whisk in the powdered sugar slowly until desired consistency is achieved.
  6. Dip each donut into the glaze, then add green dusting sugar and one large red heart sprinkle on top.
  7. Let sit and dry for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Store leftover donuts in an airtight container.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired shade of green.
  • These donuts can be made ahead of time and frozen; reheat before serving.
