- 2 glazed donuts, sliced in half horizontally
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Place the donut halves, cut side down, in the skillet and toast until golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Flip the donuts. Layer 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each bottom half.
- Crumble the cooked bacon over the cheese on each donut bottom.
- Drizzle the maple syrup mixture evenly over the bacon.
- Place the top halves of the donuts over the bacon and cheese. Press gently and cook 1-2 minutes until cheese melts and donuts are warmed through.
- Remove from skillet and serve hot.
