Description

Indulge in this rich and creamy seafood macaroni and cheese, featuring a blend of shrimp, cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan for a deliciously decadent meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (or mix of crab and lobster)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1½ cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil macaroni in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Melt butter, whisk in flour until golden. Gradually add milk and cream, whisking until thickened. Add seasonings and cheeses, stir until smooth.
  4. Add cooked pasta and seafood to cheese sauce, stir to combine evenly.
  5. Transfer to greased 9×9 baking dish, top with breadcrumbs. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes until golden. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, feel free to mix in different seafood.
  • Can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Breadcrumbs can be omitted for a gluten-free version.
