Instructions
- Combine the cake mix, Cool Whip, egg, and vanilla in a bowl until a thick and sticky dough forms. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator to firm it up for easier handling. (⏱️ 20–30 minutes)
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions and roll each one generously in powdered sugar. (⏱️ 3 minutes)
- Dip the tops lightly into red or green sanding sugar for a festive sparkle. (⏱️ 2 minutes)
- Place each dough ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart. (⏱️ 1 minute)
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) until puffed, cracked, and soft in the center. (⏱️ 10–12 minutes)
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet as they’re delicate while warm. (⏱️ 5 minutes)
