Description
A delicious sweet bread infused with the flavors of cinnamon and sugar, reminiscent of a donut.

- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon molasses
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (for topping)
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened butter, oil, and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture becomes creamy.
- Alternately mix in the flour and buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir just until combined.
- Scrape down the sides and break up any lumps in the batter for a smooth consistency.
- Transfer about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the batter to a small bowl, then mix in the cinnamon and molasses.
- Pour half of the plain batter into the prepared pan, then layer half of the cinnamon mixture over it.
- Repeat with the remaining plain batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
- Swirl the batters gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the loaf in the pan for 10 minutes, then loosen the edges and remove it carefully.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the cinnamon, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for the topping.
- Brush or spoon the melted butter over all sides of the loaf.
- Sprinkle or roll the loaf in the cinnamon sugar mixture, coating every side generously.
