- 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- Reserved icing from cinnamon rolls
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cut Cinnamon Rolls: Open cans of cinnamon rolls and slice each roll into quarters. Reserve icing for later use.
- Assemble Base Layer: Arrange cut cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Prepare Custard Mixture: Whisk eggs, heavy cream, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar in a medium bowl until fully combined.
- Soak and Layer: Pour custard mixture evenly over the arranged cinnamon roll pieces. Drizzle melted butter on top.
- Bake: Place dish in preheated oven and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden and set in the center.
- Add Toppings: Remove casserole from oven. Drizzle maple syrup and reserved icing over the top while still warm.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly before cutting into portions and serving warm.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider using whole milk instead of heavy cream.
- This dish can be prepared the night before and baked in the morning for convenience.
- Feel free to add nuts or fruit to the top for added texture and flavor.
