Description
Chocolate Peppermint Brownie Balls are a festive treat combining the rich flavor of chocolate brownies with refreshing peppermint.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box standard brownie mix including required ingredients as per package directions
- 1/2 cup chocolate frosting
- 8 oz Ghirardelli melting chocolate
- 1 cup crushed candy canes, divided
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray. Prepare brownie batter according to package instructions and pour evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake brownies for 25 to 30 minutes until set. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely at room temperature.
- Crumble cooled brownies into a large mixing bowl using your hands. Add chocolate frosting and mix thoroughly until a thick, dough-like consistency forms. Fold in 1/4 cup of the crushed candy canes.
- Portion dough using a cookie scoop and roll into uniform balls. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Melt the Ghirardelli melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until fully smooth.
- Dip each brownie ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage. Place coated balls back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle remaining crushed candy canes over wet chocolate coating. Allow the coating to set completely before serving or storing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
- For a stronger peppermint flavor, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the brownie mixture.
