Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 16 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
- 1/2 cup crushed Oreo cookies
- 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (for assembly)
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup (for drizzling)
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well blended.
- Add flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder; stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and continue to beat until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until no streaks remain.
- Stir in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.
- Cut the cooled brownies into bite-sized squares.
- In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer half of the brownie pieces at the bottom.
- Spoon half of the cheesecake layer over the brownies, followed by a layer of crushed Oreos.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining brownies, cheesecake mixture, and crushed Oreos.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup on top and finish with a dollop of whipped cream and some extra crushed Oreos.
- Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- Make sure to cool the brownies completely before assembling the trifle.
- This dessert can be made a day ahead for better flavor blending.
- Add more crushed Oreos or chocolate syrup as desired for extra flavor.
