Description

Buttery Shrimp Stuffed Croissants are a delightful combination of flaky croissants filled with a creamy shrimp mixture, perfect for an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large croissants
  • 8 ounces shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or Gruyère cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • Additional fresh chives or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  2. Add chopped shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until opaque and just pink, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, cooked shrimp with garlic, and chopped chives. Stir until fully incorporated and creamy.
  4. Using a sharp knife, carefully slice each croissant lengthwise, ensuring not to cut completely through. Open gently to form a pocket.
  5. Evenly distribute the shrimp filling among the croissants, stuffing generously into each pocket.
  6. Optional: Beat the egg and brush over the tops of the stuffed croissants for a glossy finish. Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, until cheese is melted and croissants are golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with extra chives or parsley. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute shrimp with other seafood if desired.
  • For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes to the shrimp mixture.
  • These can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
