Description

Delicious and spicy Buffalo Chicken Bacon Mozzarella Bombs filled with gooey mozzarella and topped with crispy bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 0.5 cup buffalo sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil or canola oil, for frying
  • 0.5 cup buffalo sauce, for tossing or drizzling
  • Additional bacon bits, optional, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella into cubes. Wrap each cube with crumbled cooked bacon and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, thoroughly combine ground chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, and 0.5 cup buffalo sauce until evenly seasoned.
  3. Take a small portion of seasoned chicken mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a bacon-wrapped mozzarella cube in the center, then enclose and seal the chicken entirely around the filling, forming a tight ball.
  4. Roll each chicken ball in flour to coat. Dip in beaten eggs, then evenly coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. For frying: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Fry each ball for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. For baking: Preheat oven to 400°F, arrange on a greased baking sheet, and bake for 18 to 20 minutes until thoroughly cooked.
  6. Toss or drizzle cooked balls with the remaining buffalo sauce. Garnish with extra bacon bits if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Ensure the chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F
  • For extra flavor, let the balls sit for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
