Description

Bold Burger Bowls offer a delicious and fun twist on traditional burgers, combining all your favorite flavors in a bowl with crispy homemade chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cheese, regular or dairy-free
  • Pickle slices
  • 500 grams lean beef mince
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • 23 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon or yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice from the pickle jar
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Stir all the spice mix ingredients together in a little bowl, then leave it to the side.
  2. After washing, slice the potatoes into thin chips and dry them off with paper towels. Put the chips into a big bowl, drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and toss in half the spice mix. Stir everything so the potatoes are coated nicely.
  3. Spread the chips out on a baking tray and bake them at 200°C (390°F) for 30–40 minutes, or toss them in an air fryer for about 20 minutes. Cook until they turn crisp and golden brown.
  4. While the chips are cooking, grab a frying pan and heat the rest of the olive oil over high heat. Add the beef mince and break it apart as you stir. Sprinkle on the rest of the spice mix, cook until the meat darkens, and let any liquid cook off completely.
  5. Mix all the burger sauce ingredients together in a small dish. Give it a taste and tweak the flavor if needed.
  6. When your chips are done, split them between your bowls. Add shredded lettuce to each bowl, followed by the cooked beef, cheese, and pickle slices. Top everything off with the burger sauce and serve.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize toppings according to your preferences.
  • Make the chips spicy by adding cayenne pepper to the spice mix.
  • This dish can be made gluten-free by using gluten-free breadcrumbs instead of chips.
