Description

Cooking can feel overwhelming some days, especially when you’re juggling work, kids, and never-ending to-do lists. That’s why I’m excited to share my trusty Beef Stroganoff recipe with you. It’s a warm hug of a meal that’s quick and comforting, perfect for busy evenings when you want to impress your loved ones without spending hours in the kitchen. The creamy sauce coats tender beef to create a dish that brings everyone to the table, grinning from ear to ear. Trust me, this Beef Stroganoff will become a go-to in your meal rotation!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef sirloin or stew meat, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 lb (450g) egg noodles or pasta (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef strips with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides (about 3-4 minutes). Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened (about 2-3 minutes). Add the garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  5. Stir in the sour cream and flour. Mix well to combine and let the sauce simmer gently for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens.
  6. Add the cooked beef back into the skillet. Stir to coat the beef in the sauce and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the beef is heated through.
  7. Serve the Beef Stroganoff over cooked egg noodles or pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley for added color and flavor.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, consider using Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • Double the ingredients if serving a larger group.
  • This dish pairs well with a side of steamed vegetables.
