Description

Delicious banana waffles topped with a rich caramel sauce, perfect for a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel topping)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for caramel topping)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth but still slightly chunky for texture.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron and pour in the batter. Cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  5. For the caramel sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar and heavy cream. Stir continuously until it bubbles and thickens slightly (about 5 minutes).
  6. Plate the waffles and generously drizzle with warm caramel sauce.

Notes

  • Make sure the bananas are ripe for the best sweetness.
  • You can adjust the thickness of the caramel sauce by cooking it longer if desired.
