Description

Delicious and crispy baked ham and cheese mozzarella sticks, perfect as a snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 12 thin slices of deli ham
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko works best)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray or olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wrap each mozzarella stick tightly with one slice of ham.
  2. Set up your breading station with one bowl containing beaten eggs and another bowl with breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Dip each ham-wrapped stick in egg, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently so it sticks. (For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.)
  4. Place the sticks on a tray and freeze them for 30 minutes to prevent bursting while baking.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C.
  6. Place the sticks on a lined baking sheet, lightly spray with oil, and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  7. Serve hot with marinara, ranch, or honey mustard.

Notes

  • For best results, use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
  • Do not skip the chilling step to prevent the cheese from bursting in the oven.
