Description
A delicious and easy-to-make Apple Pie Coffee Cake that combines the classic flavors of apple pie with a soft, crumbly cake.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15–16 oz) yellow cake mix
- ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 can (20–21 oz) apple pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
- Reserve about one-third of the crumb mixture for the topping and press the remaining two-thirds into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spoon the apple pie filling evenly over the pressed base.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the apple layer without pressing it down.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before glazing.
Notes
- For smaller apple pieces, lightly chop the apple pie filling before spreading.
- If the top browns too quickly, tent loosely with foil during the final baking minutes.
