Description

A delicious and easy-to-make Apple Pie Coffee Cake that combines the classic flavors of apple pie with a soft, crumbly cake.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15–16 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 can (20–21 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, melted butter, and cinnamon until crumbly.
  3. Reserve about one-third of the crumb mixture for the topping and press the remaining two-thirds into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spoon the apple pie filling evenly over the pressed base.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the apple layer without pressing it down.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before glazing.

Notes

  • For smaller apple pieces, lightly chop the apple pie filling before spreading.
  • If the top browns too quickly, tent loosely with foil during the final baking minutes.
