- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder

- 1 can (10 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl. Mix until just incorporated.
- Form the mixture into 4 to 6 oval-shaped patties with uniform thickness.
- Sear patties in a large skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- Pour gravy evenly over patties. Top with sliced onions and mushrooms if using.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30–35 minutes.
- Remove foil and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and hamburger steaks are cooked through.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley if desired and serve hot with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
