Description

Air Fryer Garlic Naan Bread is a quick and delicious treat that combines the classic flavors of garlic with a traditional Indian bread, cooked to perfection in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 60 millilitres warm water
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 180 millilitres whole milk
  • 180 millilitres plain Greek yogurt
  • 60 millilitres neutral oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons fine salt
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 70 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Combine active dry yeast, sugar, and warm water in a mixing bowl. Allow to rest for 10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, milk, yogurt, minced garlic, oil, baking powder, and salt to the yeast mixture. Using a dough hook, mix on medium speed until a smooth dough ball forms.
  3. Transfer dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead by hand for 3 minutes. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Turn out dough onto a floured surface. Divide into 10 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a disc to fit your air fryer basket.
  5. Place one or two flattened discs in the air fryer basket, spray lightly with oil, and cook at 188°C for 6 minutes. Flip and continue cooking for an additional 3 minutes until golden.
  6. While naan cooks, melt butter in a heatproof bowl. Stir in minced garlic and parsley.
  7. Brush cooked naan immediately with the garlic butter mixture before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can add more or less garlic to taste.
  • Store leftover naan in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
